Ferlach, in Austria, was one of two makers of SG84/98 bayonets for the

Third Reich that was located outside of Germany.  The other was Chatellerault

of France.  The very early Ferlach bayonets have a logo on them instead of the

secret code of bym which was used a little later.

This is a comparison of a very early Ferlach SG84/98 bayonet made in 1939

and another one made in 1940.   I thought it was interesting how the "omc" logo

changed in a short period of time.  The earlier example is much more scriptic.

Also, the logo on the 1939 bayonet is stamped upside down compared to the 1940.

The upper one is the 1940, the lower is the 1939.
