SCHWIMMWAGEN

Volkswagen Type 166 Waffen SS Schwimmwagen.  The Kubelwagen was mainly used by the Heer/Luftwaffe on all battlefronts, and the Schwimmwagen was mainly used by the Waffen SS in the roadless wastelands of Russia.  Built in 1944 as marked on Volkswagen factory data plate (last year of production).  Ground-up restoration as close as possible to original factory specifications.  Volkswagen factory rebuilt engine with original design exhaust system with propeller lowering rod on top of muffler heat shield.  Original 4-wheel drive transmission completely functional including special cross country gearing with shifting instructions on data plate on dashboard.  Original stamped sheet metal seats formed to posterior.  K98k rifle holders adjacent to seats.  Original fuel tanks, dashboard and covered storage bins.  Correct specification sand tan paint and canvas top.  Has anti-skid duckboards on the floor, and accessories such as paddle and shovel.  Have old photo copy of original Volkswagen factory Type 166 technical information service manual.  Manual was published in March 1943 and has many photographs.
