K.43 sniper rifle made by Berlin-Lubecker (qve) in 1945. It has a matching numbered scope mount. The
stock was duffle bag cut and that area was painted black, I suspect to try to completely cover the seam.
It never bothered me enough to want to remove it. The rifle appears to be in unissued new condition. This K.43 is pictured in the "Hitler's Garands" book by Darrin Weaver on page 287. Darrin came to my home to take the picture but mistakenly wrote that the mount did not match the rifle. He has promised to correct the error if and when the book is reprinted. |
