This is an ac45 K.43, serial # 359a.  It is the only reported example of a K.43 with a phenolic resin stock.  The K98s with the resin stocks are well documented and they used a resin over a canvas type fabric.  This appears to be just pure resin.  I can find no markings on the stock.

I do not believe it is just coincidence that the serial number of this experimental rifle is 359a, 359 being Walther's waffenamt acceptance number.  The scope rail has been milled off.   The receiver is the single lug type and the muzzle of the barrel is not threaded.

It also has a webbed sling with a plastic or rubber tip marked edb 43.  It may have originally intended for another purpose or could have been made as a multi-purpose sling.

This rifle is pictured in "Hitler's Garands" book by Darrin Weaver on page 213.  It is also pictured in "The German Sniper 1914-1945" by Peter Senich on page 92 of the original printing.
