A rare, very late war 6.5mm rifle.  This variation is commonly called the 02/45.  They were assembled using Type 35 actions that had been stored since the 1902-04 timeframe.  The stocks were poorly painted with a brown paint that was often removed post-war.  The Tokyo arsenal symbol on the left side of the receiver probably denotes who made the original action.  No one knows, for sure,  who assembled these rifles.  

This example has a fixed rear peep sight, however some examples have an adjustable rear peep sight.
