This variation is called an off date.  It was dated 18.6 (June, 1943) but the serial number is from about a year before.  The serial number was applied but the pistol wasn't completed at that time  The application of the date was apparently delayed until final work was done on it.  There are varying theories as to how this happened but, suffice it to say, it is a scarce example.
