This is the scarce Kokura variation of the T-14 pistol and one of the last month's production at Kokura.  The highest reported serial number is 35415 making this gun about 179 from the last.  This example also has a matching numbered magazine, which is rarely found with Kokuras.

As the result of a devastating earthquake in Tokyo in 1923, much of the arms manufacturing capability of plants located in Tokyo was seriously affected.  The decision was made in 1927 to eventually move the Tokyo small arms plant to Kokura.  This move was completed in early 1935 and full T-14 production resumed at the new location in April, 1935 (10.4).  The Tokyo arsenal symbol of the "stacked cannonballs" was retained by the new plant.  Production of T-14s at this new plant ceased in June, 1936 (11.6).   Only about 3600 T-14s were produced at Kokura making them a prized collectors item.
