This is a very interesting bayonet.  It was produced by Ferlach of Austria which was one of only two manufacturer's of SG84/98 bayonets for the Third Reich that was located outside of Germany.  The other manufacturer was Chatellerault of France.

Ferlach's secret code was bym but early production had a company logo.  This is one of the early production bayonet's produced in 1940.  Another interesting thing about Ferlach was the serial numbering system.  The "59" located below the primary serial number in the picture of my bayonet was some sort of control number.  Even though the serial numbering continued uninterrupted, the control number was incremented every 200 bayonets.

The last picture shows the tag that was attached to the bayonet when I received it.  This item came out of a very large and old collection.
