ewx (Franz & Karl Voegels Lederwarenfabrik, Koln (Cologne)) was one of only two makers
that I have seen of P.38 hard shell holsters in 1944. gmo was the other. Apparently, in late
1944, ewx switched to the soft shell design. They used rather thick leather for that time and the
back of the holster and the flap were made of one piece of leather. Few makers did that.
There is no waffenamt stamp on the back.
