The difficult to find early cyq.  These pistols were produced by a company that had not previously manufactured handguns.

Walther assisted them in setting up a production line and training personnel.  The early cyqs normally have various

small parts stamped with the E/359 Walther waffenamt.  These parts were apparently shipped from Walther to

Spreewerk for help with the early production.  This example has the slide cover, slide lock, trigger, mag catch

and grips stamped with the E/359.  It is interesting that these parts have the E/359 since Walther had stopped putting

that stamp on their small parts in early 1942.  This pistol was likely produced in late 1942.  I wonder when the parts

were actually shipped to Spreewerk.  It could have been in the earlier part of 1942 and the parts were just stored in the

Spreewerk plant until production started or, possibly, these parts were inspection marked because they were going to

Spreewerk. The left side of the slide shows a number of scratches but they are under the finish.  Typical of how crude

a lot of Spreewerks are.  Early ones, and even this one, shows some nice metal finish, however.  The locking block

actuator pin looks blued.  This is unusual but I can detect absolutely no evidence of dip or rework.  I have seen other

Spreewerks where the pin is dark.
