I believe this to be a late war commercial P.38 holster.  It looks very similar to other commercial brown leather

soft shells.  It is made primarily of pressed paper with a leather closure strap.  There is an ink stamp on the

underside of the flap that I think was placed on the pressed paper material when it was made but before it was

cut up into holster parts.  It is very rare.  Also see the pressed paper P.08 holster that I have.
