This is a late war P.38 soft shell holster that was RB Numbered with an

ID for a new procurement system in Germany that started in 1943

but was not completed before the end of the war.  Most of these RB

numbered P.38 soft shell holsters are police eagle stamped.  This one

is not.  Very few of the overall RB numbered items are police stamped

so I think this holster was not a mistake, it's just that, at the end of the war,

most of them had been ordered by the police system.
