P.38, ac41 3rd variation, serial number 8983j.  It appears that a "2" was stamped

as the last digit for the serial number on the front of the barrel block and was

overstamped with a "3".  That is somewhat common.  This example has 2 matching

numbered magazines.  I'm guessing there was some rust/corrosion on the underside

of the trigger guard and on the bottom of one of the magazines.  The trigger guard was

cleaned which removed the blue.  The mag bottom was buffed and reblued.  Still,

a very scarce gun.  They only produced about 15,000 of this variation, fewest of the

ac41 variations.
