This is a K98k, byf44 high turret sniper rifle.  In the Mauser plant, as K98ks were test fired each day, the most accurate rifles were set aside and sent to the sniper shop for modification.   This rifle is fully matching, including the scope.  The scope serial number is not intended to be numbered to the rifle, only the rear ring.  In the last picture, the E/135 stamp on the right is the final inspection from the sniper shop.   Only some spotting in the bluing on the scope keeps this sniper from being about mint.  The scopes had a commercial finish and did not hold up well.  Must be one of the best.   (SOLD)
