byf43, Eagle/L police.  Serial # 1131.  This gun was made just prior to my other byf43 E/L.  Bluing is nice with the grip strap mostly worn off and a small amount of pitting on the right side of the slide at the front from holster contact.  Correct reddish brown grips and E/135 stamped magazine.

An interesting thing about this example is that the P.38 & byf43 stamping was done twice.  Once, very light, and another which is typical.  If you look at the closeup of the left side of the slide where the byf43 stamp is, you can clearly see the extra "b" and an extra "4" just to the left of the regular stamp.   You can also see the extra "P", but just barely.

These byf43 police examples are difficult to find as they only produced about 1200 of them.  It is much scarcer than the byf44 E/L police since they made about 3000 of them.

The police guns were made in their own serial range starting with 1 and will typically have military (E/135 or E/WaA135) inspected slides and frames.  They also has the required E/N firing proofs.   $2200 + shipping.  SOLD
